Through the Sri Lanka Less Travelled initiative, the Company has provided a platform to showcase enterprises supported by the Chrysalis incubation programme, funded by the European Union.
The initiative highlights community-based tourism opportunities around in various destinations with a relationship to the Trial. The businesses featured include accommodation providers, local guides, food and beverage operators, agricultural tourism enterprises and other local service providers.
The Company’s contribution is primarily through tourism promotion and market visibility: introducing visitors to lesser-known destinations and helping connect them with local enterprises. This gives hikers opportunities to spend locally while discovering the cultural and natural attractions around the trail.
The programme is particularly relevant to women and young entrepreneurs seeking to build tourism-related livelihoods in rural areas.
The listed businesses are part of the Chrysalis incubation programme; their listing does not constitute formal accreditation or endorsement by The Pekoe Trail Company.
