The Pekoe Trail Company has engaged with environmental and conservation organisations, including the Wilderness and Wildlife Conservation Trust and Zero Plastic Movement, on initiatives supporting responsible trail management and environmental sustainability.
These collaborations focus on addressing environmental pressures associated with increased visitor access to sensitive landscapes, with areas of work including waste management, responsible hiking, biodiversity awareness and the promotion of low-impact tourism practices.
Discussions continue with GIZ and UNOPS exploring potential initiatives relating to biodiversity conservation, waste management and community development in the Central Highlands. These remain subject to the development and implementation of the respective project activities.
