The Pekoe Trail Partners with Ceylon Tea Museum to Boost Trail Experience
We’re happy to share that The Pekoe Trail Company has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Ceylon Tea Museum, located at the starting point of Stage 1 in Hantana. This is an exciting step in our journey to work with partners who support sustainable tourism across Sri Lanka’s hill country.
While the MOU is now in place, the option to make a voluntary trail pass contribution at the museum will officially begin towards the end of this month. Walkers who contribute there will get free entry to the museum, giving hikers the chance to enjoy both the trail and Sri Lanka’s tea heritage in one smooth experience.
Looking ahead, The Pekoe Trail Company is building a network of places along the trail where walkers can contribute. We’re reaching out to hotels, guest houses, accommodations, and MSMEs in trail towns to join us as places where walkers can contribute and buy Pekoe Trail merchandise. This will make it easier for hikers to make a contribution if they wish, while also creating more visibility and value for local partners.
