The Pekoe Trail Partners with Ceylon Tea Museum to Boost Trail Experience while Strengthening the PPP Model.
We’re happy to share that The Pekoe Trail Organisation (TPTO) has signed an official MOU with the Ceylon Tea Museum, located at the starting point of Stage 1 in Hantana. This is an exciting step in our journey to strengthen public-private partnerships that support sustainable tourism across Sri Lanka’s hill country.
While the MOU is now in place, the option to purchase Trail Passes at the museum will officially begin towards the end of this month. Passes purchased there will include complimentary entry to the museum, giving hikers the chance to enjoy both the trail and Sri Lanka’s tea heritage in one smooth experience.
Looking ahead, TPTO is actively working on building a network of official resellers along the trail. We’re reaching out to hotels, guest houses, accommodations, and MSMEs in trail towns to join us as retail outlets for Trail Passes and Pekoe Trail merchandise. This will make it easier for hikers to access the passes they need while also creating more visibility and value for local partners.
If you run a business along the trail and would like to be part of this growing ecosystem, we’d love to hear from you.
